No Blatant Selling To Each Other On This Site

'Enough said about this.

Make sure that everyone wins.

For any promotional project you are organizing or for which you are providing resources, make sure the project design provides a mechanism for everyone who works on the project to win a fair return for the resources they provide for that project. Everyone needs to take responsibility for making sure this happens on every project here.

Clean, Clear, Professional Language Here

'Enough said about this.

Motivations

Some of us are motivated by money, and others are motivated by the need to help others. I think that most of us are in the middle. I support almost any motivation (my exception is a motivation to be destructive). And on this site, we welcome money-grubbers and do-gooders and everyone in between.

When forming promotional projects, it is imperative that you organize it so that others can maintain their own motivation during the project. This means that if your partners are motivated by money, you need to make sure your promotional structure provides a mechanism for them to get money as a reward for their production.

If your partners are motivated by helping others, you need to make sure they know about and understand how their desire to help others is fulfilled by your promotional project.

For most of us, the need for income is one of our strongest needs and motivations. So, make sure you plan effectively for that.

Managing our own numbers

We are going to be growing in numbers here, so I suggest we start considering a system of categories for ourselves. The kinds of things we need to categorize are the resources we bring to promotion activities.

Pair of eyes

For instance, when marketing and selling over the internet, there is strong value placed on how many pairs of eyes can to which you can send the promotional message. This translates to the number of "friends" you have accumulated in social networking sites, the number of members you have in various social networking sites, which are owned or administered by you, and  to the number of email addresses you have in opt-in autoresponder lists. There are sub categories inside here related to niches, but niches becomes another type of category.

When someone is designing a promotional project, one of the things needed  to calculate the possible return of a promotional project, is this number of pairs of eyes which will see the promotional message. So, I think it is a good idea for us, individually, to clarify our status with respect to the number of pairs of eyes to which we have direct access. So, I suggest the following categories:
  • Kestrel: Less than 1000 pairs of eyes
  • Hawk: Between 1000 and 3000 pairs of eyes
  • Eagle: More than 3000 pairs of eyes
Make sure your Profile page correctly reflects this information.

Gathering Resources

If you want to bring together resources from this site for a promotion, please do not use these categories to discriminate against a member. If your promotion needs 100,000 pairs of eyes, make sure you have gathered enough resources together from the mix of our members who are willing to participate, so that you have your requisite number of eyes.

Overall Promotional Resources

There is another set of categories which we need to use. What resources do you bring to a promotional effort?
  • Product/Service Partner: The product or service being promoted
  • Eyes Partner: The number of pairs of eyes to which you can show the message.
  • Sweat Partner: How many sites, groups, and blogs to which you can post or how many bookmarks you can make.
Make sure your Profile page correctly reflects this information.

When organizing a promotion, you will need to be clear about these resources you bring to the project. Each of us may be only one kind of partner, or we may be all kinds. Each project requires a mix of these resources to succeed in the overall promotional effort.

Initiating a promotional project

Any of the different kinds of partners can initiate a project. You may have thousands of eyes at your disposal, and you search around for a product/service partner to utilize. You may only have sweat, and you can develop a plan using Eyes and Product/Service Partners to pull it off. Do not feel limited because of the resources you have personally, use this site to promote you plan and approach other members with your ideas.

This Site Is About Working Together

This site is about partnering with others to create promotional projects. You are welcome to post on your own profile page the information which clearly describes the products for which you want to create promotional projects. But, please refrain from promoting your product/service to the members here.

You get a lot more leverage by a creating promotional project with the other members. If a member is involved with your promotional project and wants to purchase your product, that's great.

Please keep your focus on supporting your fellow members in their projects and helping your fellow members succeed with all of their promotional projects, including your projects.

If You Need Help, Just Ask

If you need to know what to do or how to do it, go to the "I Need Help!" group and tell your story and ask for help. Be clear about what you are asking. The Mentors in that group want to help you improve you knowledge, your capability, and your skill level.

Make sure you thank you Mentors for their answers.

Helping Others Helps Ourselves

Those of us with more resources need to mentor those with less experience. We need to grow the skill level of those who want to help us succeed, so they can succeed too.

So, I suggest that those of you with large lists, with long experience, and more know-how, should take responsibility to provide mentoring for those with less.

I suggest you join the "I Need Help!" group and be available to help those who ask for our help. When you grow the capability of our members, you grow the resources available for your promotions.

What Are Your Niches?

This is a basic question within all promotional activities.

"If you don't know where you are going, all roads lead there."

To be able to plan any promotional activity, you must be quite clear about what niche you are going after. You much be able to plan your promotional activities armed with specific information about that niche and how to talk with that niche. If you don't get this information first, you can be assured of very poor response to your promotional activities.

So, I urge each of you to go back through your site profile and get quite clear about which niche you are going after.

The reason you need to have that clearly defined is that other members of this site, who are looking here for resources for a promotional project, will not be interested in working with someone who is not yet clear about what they want to do.

Show Your Niche

In your profile, get your niche definitions precise, and set the first on to be the one with which you primarily want to work. Put an blank line between that top niche listing and the others. This will help those, who are exploring you and your resources for a promotional project, understand what you bring to the project.

If you cannot figure out what you niche is, join the "I Need Help!" group and post your question or concern. Make sure you tell you story, but also make sure you ask the question for which you need to develop an answer.

I welcome you to this site. Let's all benefit from working together.
